So, here I am...first blog post. I guess after reading so many other blogs, it's pretty intimidating to finally be starting my own. I don't really know what to say, and I'm hoping I'll be able to keep this up. Updating, I mean. I'm not really the best at this sort of thing. I think I just needed a release to talk about my fashion interests, mainly vintage, and whatever else interests me, I suppose. I think my friends and family get pretty tired of me talking about clothes all the time, so maybe this will help.
Oh! May I mention that, while at Hastings, I rented a Japanese movie called 5 Centimeters Per Second. It was made by Makoto Shinkai, who I'd never heard of before, but he was compared to Hayao Miyazaki, so I went ahead and got it. But I can definately see why the comparison was made; the artwork is incredible! So breathtaking and exquisite! I definately recommend it. It seems to be told in three acts, following the story of Takaki as he goes through life changes. Kind of like a beautifully drawn coming-of-age tale.
So, today I went up to Hastings just to look around for a bit. As I was looking at the foreign videos, some random guy walked up and told me he liked my dress. It's so nice to receive compliments on one's outfits. Especially from guys for some reason. Maybe it's because I think guys have a harder time saying something to a girl they don't know (or maybe they just don't even think of saying something if they like it). Does it sound really bad to admit that I believe I thrive off of other people's compliments? Not that I need to be complimented on my clothing choices, but it does make the day nicer. I guess it's comforting to know that you can please others by the way you appear. I always try to compliment others when I like the way they're dressed.
